Moving Rural Farmers Forward

Generating Impact with Our Clients

At Cycle Connect, we provide rural farmers like Ojok Richard and Akello Milly with the opportunity to continuously invest in income-producing tools that move their families forward out of poverty.

Ailo Apenyo Molly

In 2019, Molly asked a trusted boda-boda rider about business opportunities. He introduced her to Cycle Connect’s affordable motorcycle loans—opening a path to scale her transport business. Inspired, Molly visited our Gulu office and set a clear goal: acquire another motorcycle through inclusive financing.

She has since grown steadily—today she is a valued repeat client with four motorcycle loans and employs four riders. “Each new motorcycle represented an opportunity for greater revenue and business growth,” she reflects. Molly’s expansion now supports her community through jobs and essential transport services.

Denisco Opiyo

After secondary school, Denisco’s future was uncertain—until he discovered Cycle Connect’s solutions for last-mile farmers. He secured a maize thresher to cut costs and boost productivity on his 15 acres, then began offering threshing services to neighbours.

Profits enabled him to rent 30 additional acres in Nwoya, expand production, and diversify into retail. With increased income, Denisco now supports his family’s healthcare and education—turning ambition into stability and opportunity.

Ojok Richard

Farmer and small business owner, Ojok expanded the reach of his bakery with two motorcycle loans, enabling deliveries across five districts. He is now receiving four oxen and two plows to grow his farming business.

The additional income has created access to education, food security, and healthcare for his family—showcasing the compounding impact of productive assets over time.

Akello Milly

Since 2019, Milly has been investing in her future through Cycle Connect. Over the past two years, she invested in two bicycles and a pair of oxen.

As a respected community leader, Milly relied on her bicycle to move around and support her community during the pandemic. Realizing one was not enough, she acquired a second to help her children get to school and travel between her home and farm.

Her oxen have doubled the land she can plow each season, resulting in larger harvests and more food for her family. These productive assets have increased her income and enabled her to send all of her children to school.

Milly’s journey doesn’t stop here as her next goal is to secure a motorcycle loan, bringing her even closer to her dream of greater independence and opportunity.
